Identity and verification policy

Who must verify

The booking organizer must have a verified mobile number and declare that they are at least 18. A new booking request first goes to the host with dates and adult/child counts. Host acceptance is provisional: it holds the dates while the group completes its details and required checks. Every adult traveler uses their own account, verified email and approved government-ID status. A companion's phone number is optional. Hosts and disclosed co-hosts must complete their existing phone, adult-eligibility and identity checks.

Guest details and deadlines

After host acceptance, the main booking guest privately provides their full name and date of birth for matching against their government ID. Accompanying adults provide their full name and current age in completed years. Ages entered in a form are declarations, not independent proof of age. Adults must already be 18; a future birthday does not authorize an adult account today. Each invitation is limited to one guest place and expires with the verification deadline. The booking shows the submission deadline and a separate, limited review window. Submitting on time does not guarantee approval; an incomplete or unreviewed booking may expire and release the dates. Identity verification does not charge a guest or replace final booking confirmation.

Children and guardians

Children do not create accounts. An adult guest who is the child's parent or legal guardian privately provides the child's full name and age at check-in and records consent for that stay. Guests aged 13–17 are labeled “Guardian confirmed.” The guardian's own identity must be approved; this does not independently prove the child's identity or the legal relationship. Children under 13 do not submit ID evidence. Child phone numbers, child ID documents and child arrival portraits are not collected in this flow.

Current manual process

Authorized administrators review supported government photo-ID evidence and a guided selfie, then record approved, changes-required or rejected status. The review checks readability, consistency and reasonable face similarity. It is not automated biometric liveness detection, a background check or a guarantee of safety. Private evidence opens only through administrator-scoped, audited, non-cached routes.

Aadhaar

The pilot accepts passport, driving licence, voter ID or masked Aadhaar through a short-lived account-bound capture session. Do not upload a full Aadhaar number or an unmasked Aadhaar copy. Village Miles does not operate Aadhaar authentication or claim registered Offline Verification Seeking Entity status. A declared age or Aadhaar document alone must not be represented as conclusive proof of age.

Reusing verification

A current identity approval can be reused on the same account for later stays. Adding or correcting the main booking guest's date of birth, changing a private full name, or correcting an age inconsistently with the reviewed declaration requires another review. Complete retained ID evidence can be reviewed again without another upload. Normal age increases over time and optional phone-number changes do not restart ID review. Suspended accounts and revoked approvals cannot complete new bookings. When your first private details have not been matched to an earlier ID review, we review the retained evidence again. If required evidence is no longer available, a new submission is needed. An age entered in a form is not independent age proof.

Property and residency

Before publication, the primary host must pass the required identity, address-proof and property-authority reviews. Residency evidence may include an appropriate utility bill, rental agreement, bank statement or government letter. Property evidence must support the disclosed ownership or permission to host. Identity approval alone does not prove authority to offer a property.

Privacy and disclosure

Once the whole party passes its current checks, the listing owner receives the guest names and age categories needed for the stay. Exact ages, birth dates, optional companion phone numbers, ID images, private guided selfies and document numbers are not shared with the host. Adults may upload a separate optional arrival photo, have it reviewed, and separately consent to sharing it for a specific booking. Co-host permissions do not include these photos. Guests can withdraw photo sharing; file erasure may require preservation review. Booking contact and arrival details remain governed by the booking's confirmation stage.

Help, corrections and retention

Use support for booking concerns and privacy help for access, corrections, consent withdrawal or deletion requests. A submitted request is not proof of completed deletion. Shared history and preservation holds require a record-specific decision. An approved retention schedule and any applicable local guest-register duties remain separate operational requirements.
